Breaking barriers - women in health leadership
Women constitute a significant part of the health sector, yet leadership positions are predominantly held by men. This event, organised by Women in Global Health Austria, will highlight the challenges and opportunities faced by women in leadership positions, drawing insights from different sectors. Our panellists, who hold key leadership roles in their respective organisations, will share their personal journeys, discussing the hurdles they had to overcome and what empowered and strengthened them along the way. We will critically appraise barriers and discuss strategies for removing them, as well as exploring whether certain sectors are more successful in promoting women in leadership than others. Join us for a dialogue that will emphasise the importance of exchange and collaboration among different stakeholders in health. We will explore how the public and private sectors, along with civil society, can learn from each other and work together to achieve fair representation of women in leadership roles.
The event is aimed at healthcare professionals, members of the pharmaceutical industry, public administration and civil society representatives, academics, students, and anyone interested in gender equity and leadership in the health space. There will be ample opportunity for discussion after the panel debate. After the event, participants will have the opportunity to network and exchange ideas.
Stay tuned for updates on our speakers! We will announce them shortly, so please check back soon.
